The Bronx will soon have its own local brewer.  According to today’s Crain’s New York Business, the Bronx Brewery will be serving up Bronx American Ale as early as August.

The new brewery in Mott Haven will join four other city brewers:  Chelsea Brewing Co., Brooklyn Brewery, Heartland Brewery, and Sixpoint Brewery, which opened in Brooklyn in 2002.

In addition, a mess of beer gardens and beer halls is expected to open this summer, beginning with La Birreria, a “massive rooftop brewery” being built at Mario Bitali’s Eataly market. Other beer gardens are expected in Harlem, the South Street Seaport and other venues.
